Brisbane's van Dijk happy with team changes

Brisbane Roar striker Sergio van Dijk is happy with the alterations made to the club during pre-season. The Roar changed their name from Queensland to Brisbane to coincide with the two new teams joining the league who are both from the northern state and to go along with the name change, have altered their playing strip.

The Dutchman said he was pleased to see the shirt becoming more and more orange.

"The more orange, the better for me," he joked.

"A different name and a different kit makes it more like a new start. The strip looks more classic and I like it."

van Dijk said it will be a great opportunity to don the new strip when the Roaor meets Scottish Premier League champions Celtic in a pre-season match on July 12.

"It's nice to show a lot of people in the crowd the new strip and play a good game against Celtic, so that's all positive," he said.

"It's always great to play against teams who often play in the Champions League and Celtic is one of those teams.

"I hope we can show our home crowd something so they come to the stadium next season."
