Brisbane's Oar not letting injury get better of him

Returning from international duty with an injury likely to sideline you for a month is not ideal but Brisbane Roar's Tommy Oar is remaining positive.

The young winger returned from a tournament in Holland where he was representing the Young Socceroos with a torn quadriceps that will see him miss up to four weeks.

But Oar is confident he will be fit before the start of the A-League season which kicks off in August.

"It's always disappointing being injured but I'm fairly upbeat about it," the 17-year-old said.

"It's probably come at a good time, pre-season, rather than having it during the season. So as much as there's a bad side to it, there's also a good side to it. "Tony Ganter and the staff here at the Roar have a good record with getting people back quickly and they're pretty confident of getting me right even before the A-League season starts," he added.
