Brisbane Roar sign Visconte from Heart of Midlothian

Brisbane Roar have announced the signing of talented midfielder Rocky Visconte from Scottish club Heart of Midlothian.

The South Australian-born 20-year old has penned a one-year deal with the Roar in what is a major coup for the club.

Visconte has spent the past four years in Scotland with Hearts and during that time he enjoyed a loan spell with First Division club Ayr United which finished at the end of the recently completed season.

Roar coach Ange Postecoglou was delighted with the capture of Visconte, who is a former Australia U20 representative.

"Visconte is an out-and-out left sided player, he's quick and he's got a good left foot," Postecoglou said.

"He's had two or three years in Scotland and now really wants to break through.

"He's at that age where he is very, very keen to now make a name for himself.

"We are a good fit for him as a club because there is a position for him that I'm sure he'll be challenging for," he added.

"He was a promising young player and by all reports he's developed well since then.

"I think it's a good time for him to come back."
