Brisbane Roar sign Redmayne from Central Coast

Exciting young goalkeeper Andrew Redmayne will be Brisbane-bound next season after agreeing to join the Roar on a two-year deal.

Redmayne has been with the Central Coast Mariners for the past three seasons, but his opportunities have been limited by the form of the club's No.1 goalkeeper Danny Vukovic.

The young goalkeeper said he accepted nothing was guaranteed, but was excited by the prospect of challenging for the position of first choice custodian.

"I was excited by the new challenge of a new place, but also the opportunity to play first team football," Redmayne said.

"It's been awhile since I played under Ange, but I like Ange and I like the way he plays so I'm really looking forward to getting up there."

Redmayne will fulfill his commitments with the Mariners for the remainder of the season, before linking with his new club for pre-season training.

Roar coach Ange Postecoglou said he believed the 194cm AIS product could become one of the Hyundai A-League's premier glovemen.

"We were looking for a goalkeeper for next year and he's one I think ticks quite a few boxes," Postecoglou said.

"He's young, an U20 international and I think he's in the next line of Australian keepers to come through, I think he's got outstanding potential.

"We're offering him the opportunity to grab the No.1 spot at Brisbane Roar, so it's up to him but I'm pretty confident he can fill that spot."
