Brisbane Roar recruit Stefanutto aiming for success

Brisbane Roar signing Shane Stefanutto is aiming for plenty of success with his new club.

The 30-year old left-back joined the Roar from A-League rivals North Queensland Fury last month and is looking to achieve plenty of goals at his new home.

"I have come down here to be successful, I have come down here to win and play Asian Champions League ... and I believe (the Roar) is a place I can do that," the former Lillestrom and FC Lyn man said.

"I think there is a lot of potential in the squad and I hope we put that out on the field and do well."

Stefanutto is returning from a serious knee injury he sustained last season but is confident he will return to his best.

"I think I have already had quite a long career so it's been good to freshen up a little bit," he added.

"Maybe (the injury) was a sign that I needed a little break and now coming back I feel really good, really fresh and ready to get going."

And he added that it was up to the club to get the people of Brisbane coming along to watch the Roar after some very poor crowds last season.

"You have to be successful team on the park and Brisbane people will come and support you," he added further.

"And it's up to us footballers to do that."
