Premier League newcomers Brighton are set to break their club record transfer fee by making a move for Leicester City midfielder Tom Lawrence.
The Mirror claims the Seagulls are preparing to launch a £8m bid for the 23-year-old, and are hopeful of concluding the deal.
The proposed move for Lawrence would see the Seagulls eclipse their previous record set earlier this summer by signing goalkeeper Mathew Ryan from Valencia for £5.1m.
Lawrence spent last season on loan at Ipswich Town and scored 11 goals in 36 games.
