Brighton targeting disgruntled Newcastle forward Mitrovic

Brighton are keen on signing Newcastle outcast Aleksandar Mitrovic to help solve their goalscoring woes.

The Seagulls have scored just five goals in their first seven Premier League games after failing to sign any of their forward targets this summer.

The Mirror reports that Mitrovic has been shunned by Magpies boss Rafa Benitez after he was slapped with a three-match ban for elbowing on West Ham United midfielder Manuel Lanzini in August.

Brighton manager Chris Hughton reportedly sent scouts to watch Mitrovic participate in Serbia's 3-2 loss to Austria on Friday night.
