Brighton striker Glenn Murray admits he's surpassed his career expectations.
The 34-year-old was one of the most sought after finishers in the lower leagues of English football for most of his career, enjoying successful spells at Rochdale and Brighton in League One and League Two.
Asked if he had doubts over whether he would ever play in the top flight, Murray told BT Sport: "Yeah definitely. I watched Match of the Day growing up every week and I'm talking until I was 29-years-old.
"Luckily I got my chance. I think the first season in the division was looking over at other teams and thinking 'wow, you've finally made it'.
"It took a while to settle in and I think I believe in myself a little bit more now. I think me as a footballer, throughout my career, I've always taken a season to settle in as I step up and step up and step up.
"It took me a little bit of time in the Premier League. I came back from an ACL and got one goal in I think six months at Crystal Palace. It wasn't great but I got to grips with the Premier League, started to understand what it's about because it's very different to the lower leagues."
