Brighton striker Hemed pleads innocence over Yedlin stamping incident

Tomer Hemed says he did not intend to hurt DeAndre Yedlin.

The Brighton striker scored the only goal in Brighton's win over Newcastle at the AMEX on Sunday.

In the dying moments of the match, the Israeli striker appeared to stamp on the Magpies defender.

However, Hemed has protested his innocence saying: "I think it was by accident. I didn't try to do anything. If I hurt him I am sorry."

The 30-year-old is facing a three-match ban if he is found guilty by the Football Association.
