Brighton & Hove Albion manager Gus Poyet is being linked with the job at Reading.
The Royals are without a boss after sacking Brian McDermott on Monday with Uruguayan Poyet the latest name to be connected with the role.
The Daily Mail reports that a source close to the former Chelsea striker suggests a long-term proposition to take over at Reading would be considered.
Poyet is happy at Brighton and wants to continue his work with the Seagulls so would not leave for a quick fix solution at the Madejski Stadium.
