Sunderland have failed with a bid for Brighton winger Will Buckley.

Sky Sports says Brighton have rejected Sunderland's bid for highly-rated winger Buckley. Gus Poyet is a big fan of Buckley having worked with him at Brighton and is keen to be reunited with him at the Stadium of Light, but Brighton have rebuffed their initial efforts to sign the player.

Poyet is also interested in Brighton teammate Liam Bridcutt.
