Brighton have ended their interest in Gent midfielder Renato Neto.
The 25-year-old travelled to England on Friday for a medical though that is understood to have thrown up concerns about a knee injury, says the Daily Mail.
The Seagulls had hoped to make Neto their club record signing, but the move fell through at the eleventh hour with Brighton refusing to comment on the reason for the deal collapsing.
The midfielder has been known to be suffering from a knee problem, which is believed to have scuppered the deal after terms had already been agreed with the Belgian club.
Meanwhile, Brighton are in talks with Bodo/Glimt over midfielder Mathias Normann. The 21-year-old is expected to join Brighton's U23 squad.
