Brighton are lining up a move for Sunderland midfielder Paddy McNair.

The Argus says Albion have made a move for McNair.

The Seagulls are expected to pursue their interest in the 23-year-old Northern Ireland international after having an initial bid turned down by the relegated Black Cats.

Their opening offer, according to sources in the north-east, was around £2 million.

The versatile McNair, who can also play at centre-back, has Premier League experience with Manchester United.
