Brighton and Hove Albion are interested in signing Lille midfielder Yves Bissouma from Lille.

Per The Argus, Bissouma is a key target for Chris Hughton ahead of the coming season, as he wants to improve the team's midfield.

There is also information from French outlet L'Equipe that suggests a deal is close for £18 million, but The Argus disputes that figure.

They claim negotiations are at an earlier stage, but Hughton would like to get Bissouma signed sooner than later.

The player has been linked to Everton and Tottenham in the past.

The 21-year-old has a contract with Lille until 2021.
