Brighton find breakthrough in pursuit of Mamelodi Sundowns striker Percy Tau

Brighton have found a breakthrough in their pursuit of Mamelodi Sundowns striker Percy Tau.

The South African club have agreed a fee for the 24-year-old midfielder and given permission for him to discuss personal terms.

Sundowns said in a statement: "Mamelodi Sundowns is pleased to announce that the President of Mamelodi Sundowns Dr. Patrice Motsepe gave instructions to the Management to finalize the deal with Brighton & Hove Albion FC after Percy Tau and his agent came to see him and apologised for disclosing confidential information to the media and for Percy Tau not reporting for training."

Tau, who has been capped 12 times by South Africa, was named Premier Soccer League Footballer of the Year in 2018 after a season in which he scored 11 goals in 30 league appearances.
