Brighton are set to keep hold of Newcastle United goalkeeper Steve Harper.

Newcastle boss Alan Pardew has allowed keeper Harper to extend his loan deal at Championship club Brighton.

Harper, 36, who had joined the Seagulls for one month, will now stay until the end of December. Pardew said: "It is benefiting both parties. We both had big games at the weekend."
