Brighton clinch deal for ex-Leeds keeper Ankergren

Brighton boss Gus Poyet has completed the signing of former Leeds stopper Casper Ankergren on a two-year deal. The 30-year-old was released by the Yorkshire club in the close season but Poyet, who has worked with the keeper in the past, has moved to bring in the Dane after he passed a medical.

The Withdean boss told the club's official website: "Goalkeeper is a key position in the team, and with Peter Brezovan injured, we wanted to bring some experience to that position.

"Casper brings that experience and has played at this level and higher. I have worked with him at Leeds United, and know exactly what he is capable of, he also knows what it takes to get promoted from League One."
