Brighton boss Gus Poyet has put his hand up to succeed Harry Redknapp at Tottenham.
Poyet, 44, is a Spurs legend and was assistant to Juande Ramos, boss before Redknapp arrived and transformed the club.
"I am grateful to Juande Ramos. It was a great learning, but my character makes me like to make decisions all the time. Spurs chairman Daniel Levy knows me well so he wouldn't get someone he didn't know.
"I am happy with what I have done. It is all about the timing and the place, but I have a long-term contract here so I am very relaxed."He said: "I was at Tottenham as an assistant but I couldn't make decisions and I like to make decisions.
