Brighton boss Potter: I'm so proud of players in Man City defeat

Graham Potter expressed his pride after Brighton's tight loss to Manchester City on Wednesday.

Phil Foden's first-half strike was enough to see off Albion, who fought hard all game.

"Well we are disappointed to come away with nothing," Potter said.

"In any game you want to try and get something from the match, but we were playing against a top team, a top opponent.

"I thought our players were fantastic they gave everything, left everything on the pitch, which is ultimately all you can ask for and if the opponents are better on the day then that's how it is.

"But our boys gave everything, they showed good personality and good character when we had the chance.

"I think sometimes you have to suffer here of course because they are so good and we did that and defended with out lives, defended as a team and tried to attack them.

"I am so proud of them!"
