Brighton boss Hughton: No intent from Hemed in Newcastle stamp incident

Chris Hughton says there is no way Tomer Hemed intentionally stamped on Newcastle defender DeAndre Yedlin.

The Israeli striker, who also scored the match-winning goal, appeared to stamp the American during the closing stages of the match.

"My first impression is that there was no intent," Hughton said.

"There's no doubting the contact but knowing the individual there would also be no intent."

If the incident is reviewed by the Football Association and Hemed is found guilty, he could face a three-match ban.
