Brighton have made a £1m bid with Burton Albion for midfielder Jackson Irvine.

The Seagulls are chasing the Brewers' player-of-the-season after an impressive first campaign in the Championship.

Irvine collected 10 goals for Nigel Clough as Burton escaped relegation but with the Staffordshire club having broken their club record transfer fee to land the Australia international just 12 months ago, it is likely they will hold out for more.
