The Championship's top two sides Brighton & Hove Albion and Newcastle United are interested in Arsenal right-back Carl Jenkinson, according to the Daily Mirror.

The right-back almost joined Crystal Palace in January, and he is expected to leave the Gunners in the summer.

Jenkinson has fallen out of favour at the North London club and has managed only five appearances in an injury-afflicted season.

Chris Hughton's Brighton have already secured their promotion to the Premier League and are looking at strengthening their squad, while Rafa Banitez's Newcastle are expected to join them in the coming weeks and will put plans in place to add new faces in the summer.
