Reading fullback Wayne Bridge is backing Gus Poyet to be successful at Sunderland.

Bridge played for Poyet at Brighton last season.

"He is a top-class manager," the former England full-back told the Daily Mail.

"He is one of the best I have worked with. Gus revitalised my love for football after I was in the wilderness at Manchester City."
