Briatore's QPR takeover "dream come true"

QPR chairman Gianni Paladini claims Flavio Briatore's proposed takeover would be "a dream come true" for fans.

Renault Formula One team boss Briatore is expected to complete a £22million deal for the Championship club early next week, staving off the threat of administration for the financially-troubled west Londoners.

Paladini - who is tipped to stay on as chairman - told The Sun: "It's a dream come true for QPR fans and saves this club from liquidation.

"Mr Briatore wants to do for QPR what Mohamed Fayed has for Fulham and turn us into a Premier League club."

Briatore's spokesman added: "Mr Briatore is looking forward to being involved with English football.

"QPR is a club with a rich history and fine future now."
