Brewster and Woodburn on target in Liverpool U23 win

Liverpool's under-23 side showed it is not only the senior team that can score a lot of goals, with a 4-1 win over Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.

It was a much needed win for the side managed by Neil Critchley, after two defeats on the bounce in cup competitions. Liverpool got the game underway with a goal from the spot after just five minutes. Cameron Brannagan converted the penalty, after Harry Wilson was brought down.

Sunderland did manage to net an equaliser before half time, but Liverpool's perseverance finally got the win they so badly needed.

Rhian Brewster, Matty Virtue and Ben Woodburn got the final three goals for the Reds, as they extended their lead at the top of the Premier League 2 standings.
