Brescia hand trials to veteran midfielder Antonio Filippini

Brescia have handed trials to 37 year-old midfielder Antonio Filippini.

Filippini is out of contract following his spell at Livorno, but played for the Rondinelle between 1995 and 2004. He amassed 266 appearances for the club between Serie A and B.

"Tomorrow I will begin training with Brescia and I hope we can reach an agreement," said Filippini.

"We already talked about a one-season contract. After all, I am 37 and wouldn't really ask for any more than that.

"The important thing is to return to Brescia and wear the jersey of my 'second' club, as technically my career started with Ospitaletto.

"Before Brescia gained promotion, I called President Gino Corioni to tell him I was available. I am a Brescia native and wanted to make this dream come true. I'm very happy."
