Brentford boss Uwe Rosler is set to land the Wigan Athletic manager's job.

The Daily Mail says Wigan hope to appoint Rosler as Owen Coyle's successor today after being given permission to talk to the Brentford manager.

Owner Dave Whelan told the Daily Mail that he isn't 'hanging around' and wants to finalise a deal for the former Manchester City striker as soon as possible.

"We were given permission quite quickly by Brentford," Whelan said. "They conducted themselves very well.

"I'm confident of landing him and hopeful that we can get this done and dusted on Friday morning. I'm not hanging around."
