Brebner wants to finish career with Melbourne Victory

Melbourne Victory midfielder Grant Brebner hopes to sign a deal that will see his career out in his new home. Brebner wants to remain with the Victory for the next three or four seasons and has a one year deal at present that he is looking to extend.

"It's one year and X amount of games, which I see as fair," Brebner told The Herald Sun yesterday.

"There's no stumbling block over that. If I'm playing in the team regularly, I'll get another contract and that's the way it should be. Why would I want to hang around if I'm sitting on the bench anyway?

"If I sign another one or two-year extension or whatever it is, then I'd like to think it's long term and I'd certainly finish my career here.

"Melbourne is my home and I'd genuinely love to finish playing here. It would be great to have a one-club end to your career in Australia. See how it goes. Fingers crossed.

"We're talking at the moment," Brebner added.

"We're battering our heads on the wall a wee bit, but I'm sure we'll get there."
