Brazilian World Cup winner Denilson again linked with A-League

Former Brazil World Cup winner Denilson is again being linked with a move to the A-League.

The 32-year old midfielder is currently a free agent and recent reports have suggested he is favouring a move to Australia and talks with several clubs are believed to be underway.

Denilson, who cost Spanish club Real Betis over $38million in 1998, has been buoyed by the down under experiences of former national teammate Juninho who played with Sydney FC in 2007/08 and has marked Australia as a preferred destination.

Since leaving Brazilian club Sau Paulo for Betis, Denilson went on to play with several clubs including Flamengo, Bordeaux, FC Dallas and Palmeiras among others.

He most recently played with Vietnamese outfit Xi Măng Hải Phòng FC but after only three weeks at the club he quit, playing just half a match and scoring one goal for the club, due to injury and a contractual disagreement.
