United's youngsters secured a keenly fought friendly victory with two late goals against a resilient and hard-working Lincoln City side in front of 2,240 fans at Sincil Bank on Wednesday night.
Kieran McKenna's lads made more of the goalscoring opportunities during the contest but the home team battled well throughout and, until Brandon Williams and new signing Millen Baars struck in the final quarter, they looked capable of taking something from the game.
This was the first time in 62 years that a team representing United had set foot inside Lincoln's home ground.
Brazilian trialist Gabriel Martinelli enjoyed a half-hour for United. The 16 year-old plays for Ituano in Brazil and is chasing a deal with United in preseason.
