Brazilian striker Welliton chasing Tottenham move

Brazilian striker Welliton is chasing a move to Tottenham.

The Daily Mail says Welliton is keen to trade places with unhappy Tottenham Hotspur striker Roman Pavlyuchenko.

Spartak Moscow striker Welliton would welcome a move to the Barclays Premier League after an eye-catching season that saw him top scoring charts with 21 goals in 28 games.

Welliton would not object if he was offered in part exchange.

"Tottenham are a famous club with a good infrastructure," said the 23-year-old.

With Spurs already well stocked up front, Welliton would be equally happy to play alongside Pavlyuchenko in Moscow, despite thriving since the Russia international's exit.

"Of course I'd be happy if we signed him,' he said. 'I don't see any reason to be upset. I only have pleasant memories of playing together with him.

"We are both versatile forwards who would complement each other."
