Tottenham goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes is fielding questions from Brazil about teammate Gareth Bale.
The rise of the Wales winger, who scored three goals in two virtuoso performances against European champions Inter Milan, has come as no surprise to the former PSV Eindhoven goalkeeper.
"For those of us who have worked with him for a while, it's not surprising," he said. "He started to play regularly in the middle of last season and maybe that didn't cause so many repercussions outside of England.
"But his good performances against Inter showed it for the whole world. He is a player who I already had a lot of admiration for before he was playing, but the coach didn't have confidence in him."
