Brighton's new Brazilian defender Bernardo admits he knew a little about the Seagulls - thanks to video games.

The fullback joined Brighton this summer from RB Leipzig.

Bernardo, 23, said: “I knew a bit about Brighton because I played a lot of Fifa. I do manager mode and like to get teams from the second division in England.

“I think I did a game with Brighton already.

“Last season they were in the Premier League so I saw a few matches But I didn't know much about Brighton the city.

“When I asked people in Brazil about it, they would go: 'Oh my God, man, you need to see this DVD I have of Fatboy Slim on the pier at Brighton."
