Brazil legend Cafu makes Premier League revelations while lauding Lampard, Gerrard

Legendary Brazilian defender Cafu has revealed that he would have liked to play in the Premier League during his career.

Cafu enjoyed a glorious career with the likes of Roma and AC Milan, while he also earned a whopping 142 caps for the Brazilian national team – leading the Selecao to World Cup triumph in 2002.

Despite boasting such an illustrious career, Cafu has now expressed his regret at not playing in the English Premier League and the 42-year old also revealed that he has a lot of admiration for English duo Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard.

Speaking to FourFourTwo, Cafu said: "I never did, it would have been great to play in England.

"I would have loved to play for Liverpool, Manchester United or Chelsea.

"The English players that I like the most are those from my generation. I am a big fan of Frank Lampard – his movement is so elegant. Steven Gerrard is also a great example of character for me."
