Brazil centre-half David Luiz was left to empathise with Mark Schwarzer following the 6-0 international friendly win over Australia on the weekend.
Chelsea star Luiz and his Brazilian teammates hammered the Socceroos in Brasilia with Schwarzer copping all six goals - three in each half.
After the match, Luiz wished his new Blues teammate all the best and hoped he would bounce back ahead of next year's World Cup.
"He is a fantastic guy and a fantastic player," said Luiz.
"I have a great friendship with him. He is an example for me.
"He has been a professional player for 22 years. I feel sorry for him but I wish him the best and hope that he has a great World Cup next year."
He added: "Australia saw today what Brazil is capable of when we play like this.
"It was a fantastic game for us."
