Bravo leaves Chivas Guadalajara for Kansas City Wizards

Omar Bravo has left Mexican club Chivas Guadalajara to join MLS outfit Kansas City Wizards.

The 30-year old Mexico international has long been linked with a MLS move and now it has come through after signing a deal with the Wizards.

Chivas' official website confirmed the move, adding that Bravo's shift to the USA was a positive one for the game in Mexico.

"Club Deportivo Guadalajara's Omar Bravo, until now captain of the Chivas teamannounced that, he has agreed to play in the Kansas City Wizards of Major League Soccer, the full circuit of soccer in the United States," read the statement.

Omar Bravo is one of the greatest players of the sport in Mexico. Now his arrival in the United States represents a major event for the growing number of football fans in that market. Thanks to the involvement of figures like Bravo in the MLS, the league becomes more exciting and each day takes on a more competitive level."

Chivas president Jorge Vergara said that the club will definitely miss Bravo but said it was step in his career he needed to take.

"We are very proud of Omar, for everything he has achieved, and know that your career will be as successful in the MLS as it has been (at) Chivas," he said. "We will miss very much Omar, but we know he will give great satisfaction to fans living in the United States, and that's important for football."
