Liverpool goalkeeper Brad Jones dedicated his penalty save in Tuesday night's 3-2 win over Blackburn Rovers to his late son Luca.
The Australian gloveman kept out former Middlesbrough teammate Yakubu's penalty in the 27th minute at Ewood Park after Doni was sent off for bringing down Junior Hoilett.
It was the first piece of Premier League action for Jones since his move from Boro to Anfield in August 2010 and he paid tribute to the fans for helping him through such a tough time after five-year old Luca died from leukaemia in November.
Jones also revealed some good news ahead of Saturday's FA Cup semi-final against Everton at Wembley in which he will start following suspensions to Pepe Reina and Doni.
"My girlfriend gave birth to a little boy [Nico Luca] recently so it has been a big week. The semi-final is not something I have been thinking about to be honest. But it's a big game and it is about preparing for that and making sure I am focused.""The supporters have been brilliant. It has been a difficult 18 months with my son passing away. That was for him and obviously for them as well for giving me the support they have," the Perth-born 30-year old said.
