Bradford City have negotiated a tidy deal for themselves over the sale of teenage whiz George Green to Everton.
The Guardian says Everton have beaten Tottenham Hotspur and several clubs to the signature of the 15-year-old Bradford City midfielder Green in a deal that could eventually be worth £2m.
Bradford are to receive an initial £300,000 instalment for the Dewsbury-born teenager, reportedly scouted by more than 20 clubs in recent months, plus significant add-ons based on appearances, contracts signed and international recognition. They have also negotiated a sell-on clause from any future transfer fee.
City's head of football development, Archie Christie, who negotiated the transfer with David Moyes at Goodison Park on Saturday, said: "This is one of the highest deals ever for a 15-year-old from a League Two club. But George is the best I've seen in his position at his age. He could become another Wayne Rooney or Paul Gascoigne."
