Bradford's McHugh over the moon after beating Villa idol Given

Bradford City defender Carl McHugh could not believe his luck when he scored a header past Shay Given tonight.

The 19-year old lad from County Donegal managed to beat his boyhood idol to help the Bantams to a shock 3-1 victory over Aston Villa in the Capital One Cup semi-final first leg and he admits he was delighted to contribute the way he did against an Irish legend.

"It's all a bit of a blur. It's unbelievable to score against him, with us coming from the same part of Ireland," said the Republic of Ireland youth international.

"I have watched him play in World Cups for Ireland and it's a dream come true.

"I was determined to make sure we got the two-goal lead. I didn't care how I got my head on it."
