Former Manchester City defender Dedryck Boyata admits John Guidetti convinced him about joining Celtic.
The 24-year-old Belgian, capped once by his country, signed a four-year contract after passing a medical and will now replace countryman Jason Denayer at the heart of the Parkhead defence.
Denayer, 20, has returned to the Etihad to push for a first-team place following a successful year on loan in Glasgow.
"No, I didn't speak to Jason," he admitted. "I spoke most of the time to John Guidetti. He told me good things about the club.
"He told me about how good the club was and the team spirit. About the fans, especially the fans. The city, the manager, quite a lot really.
"I know Jason from when he came through the reserves at Man City, so from that time I was the one helping him a lot."
