Manchester City defender Dedryck Boyata has defended Carlos Tevez's goal celebrations against Manchester United last week.

Boyata defended Tevez for the way he celebrated his goals by cupping his hand to his ear, a gesture interpreted as a message to Sir Alex Ferguson and United.

Boyata said: "I would have done the same if people had been talking about me like that. Neville said United were right not to buy Tevez but I don't think so because Carlos is one of the top scorers in the Premier League."
