Former West Ham United midfielder Lee Bowyer hopes Sam Allardyce can sign permanently Andy Carroll.

Liverpool have accepted West Ham's offer, but Carroll is waiting to hear from other clubs.

Bowyer told whufc.com: "This squad is a lot stronger than the one he had in his Bolton days. Hopefully Andy Carroll might be coming, so if that comes off it will be a great bit of business. I think the Club is stable now and the owners have come in and done a good job there too."
