Bowen: Stoke players need to stop sitting back

Stoke City No2 Mark Bowen says they want the players to not sit back when they take the lead.

Bowen feels they paid for that attitude in their 3-3 draw at Swansea City.

"It is absolutely no disrespect to what went on before at Stoke - they had relative success playing that way - but it is hard to change a mindset overnight.

"We are encouraging players to think for themselves and trust their ability. We are just 11 games into a two or three-year process.

"Of course there are going to be ups and downs, so we just have to make sure we keep picking up points along the way.

"We are trying to take the club forward."
