Bournemouth U21 boss Molesley taking charge of Weymouth

Bournemouth U21 boss Mark Molesley is taking charge of Weymouth.

Londoner Molesley took the under-21 reigns at Vitality Stadium after Stephen Purches had stepped up to become first-team coach under Eddie Howe and will continue his full-time role with Cherries.

Molesley told the Dorset Echo: “I'm my own man. There will certainly be changes and a big shake up, without a shadow of a doubt. I will be looking to put my own stamp on it now.

“I will be looking to put everything that I have learnt through my own career with my own ideas. I am quite clear in my mind of how I want to do things and how I want to set this up.

“This is a good project and one I am excited about.

“It's a great club and an illustrious club but that doesn't give it any God-given right to just achieve something. If anything, it has its challenges.

“The season might stop now but we really have to get to work. Most people have probably organised their pre-season and their team six weeks ago, whereas we are almost starting from scratch. We have a lot of catching up to do.

“But I have good people around me and we have been at work already, so we will start to see where we are and what players are thinking."
