Newly-promoted Premier League side Bournemouth are set to sign former Everton star Sylvain Distin.
According to the Daily Star, the 37-year old French defender will earn £40,000-a-week with the Cherries which will make him the highest paid player in the club's history.
Distin has played over 450 Premier League games and led Portsmouth to FA Cup glory in 2008. The former Paris Saint-Germain, Newcastle United and Manchester City centre-half made over 200 appearances in all competitions for the Toffees during his six-year stay at the club.
