Bournemouth target Mulgrew wants Celtic stay

Charlie Mulgrew is not about to up and leave Celtic.

The 30-year-old defender is out of contract at Parkhead this summer and is yet to be offered a new deal.

However, the Scotland international will not push for an exit even though Premier League club Bournemouth are showing interest.

Mulgrew says he wants to continue on the ride with Celtic who are entering an exciting new era under recently-appointed manager Brendan Rodgers.

"We are in discussions at the moment, so hopefully we can come to some agreement and we'll just see what happens," he told Sky Sports News HQ.

"I have spoken to the new manager, his plans for the club are great and I think it's exciting times ahead for Celtic.

"I hope I can be involved in that. I think there are a few big years coming up and I want to be involved in it and be involved in the club going forward.

"I want to stay, I've spoken to the manager and he wants me to stay. That's important for me, you want to feel wanted and hopefully we can come to some kind of agreement."
