Bournemouth are targeting Aston Villa midfielder Jordan Veretout.

The Sun says boss Eddie Howe is targeting a new face in the heart of his side for next season and the Cherries chief has picked the star as his target despite an average first campaign in England.

Veretout was a wanted man in his homeland, where he won caps all the way up to the full team, but he failed to fire at doomed Villa after his £7million move from Nantes.

Villa will look to sell Veretout, 23, for a profit but that is not putting off the ambitious Howe as he tries to make two or three key signings — and fast.
