Bournemouth striker Wilson hypes importance of 'big' clash with West Brom

Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson believes Saturday's clash with West Bromwich Albion could immensely impact their season.

The Cherries are six points from the relegation zone and will be hoping to extend that gap with a win over Alan Pardew's side at Vitality Stadium.

With Albion eight points from safety at the bottom of the table, it won't be an easy task for Bournemouth, and Wilson knows they must give their all if they are to take home the victory.

"Six points is only a small gap and we want to build on that. Tottenham was disappointing having played so well for 80 minutes but Saturday is the big one," he told the Daily Echo.

"We're playing a team who are also in a relegation fight and we can't afford to drop points against teams in and around us like we have of late. We have to focus as it is going to be a big game in our season.

"West Brom beat us on the first day of the season – I wasn't fit at the time – and that shows we can't take them lightly. Teams at the bottom are more dangerous because they are fighting for their lives.

"We need to make sure we have the same attitude and apply ourselves correctly. They will make it uncomfortable and it is going to be up to us to be patient and try to break them down."
