According to reports from The Sun, Bournemouth are ready to offer Sunderland striker Jermain Defoe a staggering £18million contract.

Jermain Defoe is expected to be leaving Sunderland this summer on a free transfer and a host of Premier League clubs have expressed an interest in signing the prolific attacker.

Bournemouth have often been mentioned as a team who are very keen on acquiring the services of Defoe and according to reports emerging out of England, the Cherries are planning to offer the England international a whopping £6million-a-season two year contract with an option of an additional year.
