Brentford midfielder Jota is a target for Premier League clubs.

The Mail on Sunday says Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe made a personal check on Jota on Friday night.

Howe has earmarked the Spaniard as someone who could add goals to Bournemouth's midfield in the Premier League next season.

Jota, 23, was signed last summer from Celta Vigo for £1.2million and has scored 11 goals to help propel Brentford into the Championship play-offs.

Leicester City and Swansea City have also checked on Jota's progress this season.
